David W. Timothy is a photographic artist whose work has been described as “Provocative to some, evocative to others.”

David captures people’s lives, passions, and sensualities. Whether a stranger’s smile or the familiarity of a former lover, his images reveal their inner uniqueness and beauty. His photographs serve as a catalyst for viewers to feel, breathe, savor, and experience their own emotions and desires.

Recently, his focus is portraiture. David organically collaborates with models to develop concepts and images. The models are often part of the queer community and images revolve around marginality, sexuality, and the model’s journey. His work leans towards a Chiaroscuro style.

Earlier works consist of refugees, friends, and street photography from the Philippines, Japan, and Croatia. David lived and worked overseas for thirteen years. His camera documents his experiences and encounters with “differentness.” Not professionally educated in photography, David is appreciative of workshops, Youtube, and other photographers who openly share their knowledge, techniques, and experiences. David and his husband have lived in Trenton for 17 years. His work is currently being shown in the Trenton city museum, Ellarslie, and has been displayed in galleries, corporate exhibitions, and local businesses.
